Summary of latest update
- Everyone should self-assess for COVID-19 symptoms before every training session or match. If you are symptomatic or living in a household with possible or actual COVID-19 infection you must not participate or attend.
- Training and match play is now permitted, with social distancing in place before and after the match/training.
- Players and officials should sanitise hands before and after a game as well as scheduled breaks throughout a game or training session.
- Ball handling should be kept to a minimum with most contact via a boot and the ball disinfected in breaks of play.
- Coaches/Managers are encouraged to limit persistent close proximity of participants during match play and training.
- Goal celebrations should be avoided.
- Equipment should not be shared, and goalkeepers should ensure they disinfect their gloves regularly in breaks in training or matches and thoroughly afterwards. Where possible, coaches should only handle equipment in training.
- Keep a record of HWJFC attendees at your match or training session, including contact details, to support NHS Test and Trace. You must keep a record of attendance for each session for a minimum of 21 days.
- No spectators are allowed at grassroots football as part of step one of the Government’s roadmap. However, one parent or guardian per child will be permitted. We are working to make sure that we can safely accommodate this – as well as team officials (managers/coaches, lines-person, and Respect marshal) who would be in addition to the one parent or guardian. Siblings are allowed to attend with one parent or guardian.
- Arrive in good time to set up signage and anti-bac (For matches at Greenfields Junior School, set-up needs to take place before you unlock the goals and open the gate to let visitors in to scan in).
- No one should enter Greenfields until they have scanned in - the NHS COVID-19 application is mandatory at HWJFC for everyone over-16.
- Anyone 12+ must wear a mask on arrival and can only take it off when they are pitch side; those watching must stay 2m away from anyone outside of their household bubble (the use of cones spaced 3m apart as places to stand will help).
- Each team must appoint a parent or guardian as match day COVID-19 official, to ensure their team and the team visiting HWJFC checks in on arrival. (Greenfields entrance gate, or Jubilee pitch area / Slopey / St Mary's Park, etc.) An orange match official bib will be provided to help identify this person. The COVID-19 official can double as the Respect volunteer.
- Every player must bring a named drinks bottle and named hand sanitiser.
- Every one over 16 must register attendance at all football activity; parents can do this on behalf of their children.
- Every player must use hand sanitiser, before the match (or training session), at half time and after the game (or training session).
- Parents/Guardians/Spectators (when allowed) must social distance at all time.
- Managers and Coaches must wash all bibs after each use.
- Managers and Coaches must spray equipment after use with appropriate anti-bac spray.
- Team sheets must be emailed to the team you are playing on or before the Friday before your game.
- Updated Welcome to HWJFC documents have been created and must be used.
- We all have a part to play to remain COVID-19 Secure and adhere to the latest guidelines.
- Further COVID-19 Guidance can be found on the NEHYL website.
Please stay safe, and support your club so that football can continue.
